Cybercriminals spread malware through Microsoft OneNote

Security researchers warned cybercriminals for using Microsoft OneNote attachments in phishing emails to infect victims with remote access malware, allowing attackers to steal passwords and even cryptocurrency wallets.
The attackers used malicious OneNote attachments such as DHL shipping notifications, invoices, ACH remittance forms, mechanical drawings, and shipping documents, Victims can avoid damage to attachments by refraining from opening files from untrusted sources.
Earlier, attackers used Word and Excel malicious attachments for years and launched macros to download and install malware.
